Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 2025
The Simple Truth
We can't violate your privacy with data we never receive. PDFOutfit processes everything locally in your browser.
How PDFOutfit Works
Client-Side Processing
All PDF processing happens entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. This means:
- Your files are never uploaded to our servers
- We never see your document content
- Processing happens in your browser's memory
- Files are cleared when you close the page or navigate away
- No accounts or sign-ups are required
What We Don't Collect
Because of our client-side architecture, we deliberately don't collect:
- Your files: Documents never leave your device
- File names or metadata: We never see what you're processing
- Personal information: No accounts, no email addresses, no names
- Tracking data: No cross-site tracking or user profiling
- Behavioral data: No detailed usage patterns or analytics
What We Do Collect
Basic Analytics (Optional)
We may collect minimal, anonymous analytics to understand how PDFOutfit is used:
- Page views and which tools are accessed
- Browser type and general device information
- Approximate geographic location (country/region only)
- Referral source (how you found PDFOutfit)
This data is aggregated and anonymous. We use privacy-focused analytics that don't track individual users across sessions.
Technical Information
Your browser automatically provides standard technical information:
- IP address (for basic security and regional content delivery)
- Browser user agent string
- Time and date of access
This information is used for security purposes and is not linked to any individual user.
Cookies and Local Storage
What We Use
PDFOutfit uses minimal browser storage:
- Local Storage: Temporarily stores file data during processing (never sent to servers)
- Preferences: Remembers your tool preferences and settings locally
We do not use:
- Tracking cookies
- Advertising cookies
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Session cookies for authentication (we have no accounts)
Third-Party Services
PDFOutfit is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure, which provides:
- CDN and hosting: Delivers the website to your browser
- DDoS protection: Protects against malicious traffic
- SSL/TLS encryption: Secures your connection to PDFOutfit
Vercel may collect basic access logs as part of standard web hosting. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
Data Security
Security is built into our architecture:
- All connections use HTTPS encryption
- No server-side file storage means no server-side breaches
- Processing happens in isolated browser memory
- Static site architecture minimizes attack surface
Your browser's security features provide the primary protection for your files. We recommend using up-to-date browsers and trusted networks.
Your Rights
Because we don't collect personal data or create accounts, there's minimal data to manage. However:
- You can clear browser local storage at any time
- You can use PDFOutfit completely anonymously
- You can block analytics using browser settings or extensions
- You can request information about analytics data collection
Children's Privacy
PDFOutfit does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information at all, the service can be used safely without age restrictions.
International Users
PDFOutfit is available worldwide. Because processing happens in your browser, your files never cross international borders to reach our servers.
The website itself is hosted on Vercel's global CDN, which may serve content from servers in various countries for optimal performance.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy as PDFOutfit evolves. Significant changes will be noted with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Limitations of Privacy
We want to be transparent about what we can't control:
- Browser vulnerabilities: Your browser's security is outside our control
- Device security: We can't protect against malware or compromised devices
- Network monitoring: Your internet provider or network administrator may see your connection to PDFOutfit
- Browser extensions: Third-party extensions may monitor your activity
